Limelight

A poem about feeling quiet and getting away from it all

Photo by Katie Moum on Unsplash

I’m staying out of the limelight.

Where acidic neon juices sting.

Sitting in the folded shade,
Of a flowering tree instead.

A place where tranquil peace resides.
A knowing of my inner strength.

Swaying in the swirling branches.
Held within the leaves of gold.

Connected earth roots cry,
Reaching far beyond its hold.

Heralding the vast sky script.

I’m staying out of limelight.

In a safe and cosy burrow,
Out of mind, out of sight.

This poem was inspired by the photo, in
Jason Edmunds poem Late Bloomer.
